Brie Larson (The Gambler) is in early discussions to star in “Glass Castle” for Lionsgate according to a report in Variety.
“Glass Castle” is an adaptation of the 2005 memoir by Jeanette Walls . The book deals with a young girl and her dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads .
She has to deal with an eccentric Mother, whilst her father is a paranoid alcoholic, with fears of the state and organised society. Her mother and father would stir their children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.
If Larson joins the project she will be re-teaming with “Short Term 12 Director” Destin Cretton, with Marti Noxon penning the script. Jennifer Lawrence was originally up for the role but left the project after a unsuccessful search for a male lead.
