Elizabeth Banks will star in “Rita Hayworth with a Hand Grenade” an adventure drama directed by Sloane U’Ren. Shooting is set to begin in Spring.

Set during World War II, Banks will star as one of the first female war photographers. Her plane is shot down and stranded on a South Pacific island. Her only company is a marooned Japanese soldier. Stranded alone, the pair must battle the elements and face their unescapable predicament. Set over a 30 year time period the two sworn enemies learn to become allies.

Sloane U’Ren made her directing debut on 2011s “Dimensions”,  she previously worked on the art departments of films such as “Being John Malkovich”, “Batman Begins” and “The Good Shepherd.” Antony Neely who also worked “Dimensions” wrote the script.
