With Mark Hamill’s continued absence from the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” marketing, the lingering question is just how much screen time will the character of Luke Skywalker get? It is now confirmed by the man himself via twitter that he will at least be back in the followup, “Star Wars: Episode VIII”.

The news is not a massive shock, Hamill and his family were seen back in Skellig Michael island in Ireland, a shooting location for Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: Episode VIII”, a location also used in “The Force Awakens”.

With no plans to release any marketing related to the iconic jedi, audiences will have to wait until “The Force Awakens” opens on December 18th to see Hamill’s Luke Skywalker in action. “Episode VIII” is scheduled for release Summer 2017.
