Oscar Isaac is in negotiations to star in the political thriller “A Foreigner” at Paramount Pictures and Film Rites.

“Argo” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” writer Chris Terrio penned the script, an adaptation of the 2011 New Yorker article ‘A Murder Foretold’. The story focusses on  a murdered Guatemalan man that has videos of his killers distributed after his death in order to uproot the corruption that led to the death of many others.

Matt Damon was previously considering making this his directorial debut, with”Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is in talks to direct. Steve Zaillian, Steven Rales, Garrett Basch and Mark Roybal are all producing.

The film’s schedule which has yet to be set due Isaac’s commitment to shoot “Star Wars: Episode VIII” next year. He’ll next appear on our screens in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” next month and “X-Men: Apocalypse,” in May. Isaac recently filmed Terry George’s “The Promise”.
