The snippets of information and photos from the bumper issue of EW are giving us “Star Wars” fans more details about the makeup of the next film, and what our beloved characters have been doing in a Galaxy far, far away since we last saw them 32 years ago.

The man responsible with re-launching this franchise, J.J. Abrams talked a little about everyones favorite Jabba slave girl, Princess Leia.

Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) will in fact go by a different name in the upcoming film. The character will be known as ‘the General’ in “The Force Awakens”.

“She’s referred to as General, but … there’s a moment in the movie where a character sort of slips and calls her ‘Princess’.”

I wonder who that might be? a certain roguish intergalactic smuggler perhaps.

Abrams goes on to explain that the story for Leia will be quite serious, with less of the light heartedness from the previous films:

“The stakes are pretty high in the story for her, so there’s not much goofing around where Leia’s concerned. But it felt historic to have her, especially with [Han Solo actor Harrison Ford], back in scenes together. I can only imagine the baggage that they bring to it, I’m just a fan who loves this stuff, but they’ve been living with it–and living in it–since ’77.”

So we now have a pretty good idea about two of the original trilogies main characters, we still have no clue on Luke Skywalker, with mystery and speculation still surrounding Mark Hamill’s character.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens on December 18th.
