The “Tomb Raider” reboot has a director, Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug (“The Wave”) has signed on to the video game adaptation at MGM, GK Films and Warner Bros. Pictures.
“Transformers 5” co-writer and writer of Black List script “Hibernation,” Geneva Robertson-Dworet, is in negotiations to write. Hawk Ostby, Marti Noxon, Mark Fergus and Evan Daugherty all previously worked on drafts of the script.
Lara Croft, archaeologist and adventurer will once again be the focus of the film, an iconic character in video games. Angelina Jolie played the ancient artifacts hunter in two previous films, that were seen as critical failures.
The new incarnation is set to follow the same line as the 2013 reboot of the video game and tell the origin story for the character. No news yet on who take on the iconic role.
