Ryan Gosling is Universal’s first choice to for the role American astronaut Neil Armstrong in “First Man”. The biopic will be directed by “Whiplash” helmer Damien Chazelle.

Josh Singer  (“Spotlight”) adapted the script from James Hansen’s biography “First Man: A Life Of Neil A. Armstrong”. The story deals with  Armstrong’s life and how he famously became the first man to walk on the moon during the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.

The pairing of Chazelle and Gosling are currently already working together on the musical “La La Land”, that movie film is set to open on July 15th next year.
