“Sisters” the upcoming new comedy from Universal starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler has all the right ingredients to deliver the laughs. The two stars are leads from two long running ultra-successful TV shows “30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation” plus not to mention their “Saturday Night live” stints and hosting the Golden Globes together.
Director Jason Moore‘s previously worked on the first “Pitch perfect” comedy, which for a 30 something red-blooded male I probably enjoyed a little too much. The official synopsis for “Sisters” goes:
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for Sisters, a new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need.
Fey produces the comedy alongside Jay Roach (Meet the Parents series) and John S. Lyons (Austin Powers in Goldmember), and Poehler executive produces alongside Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell from a script by Paula Pell (TV’s Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock).
“Sisters” is set to open on December the 18th, in what is no doubt a move to provide some counter programming to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. The film also stars Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, John Cena and James Brolin.
Universal have now released some new set photos from the movie, check them out below. Along with the trailer for the movie.
