A new international trailer for the awards season contender Trumbo has just launched . Based on the story of Communist witch-hunt that took place within 1940s Hollywood and how it effected one of the great screenwriters of the day Dalton Trumbo.
Trumbo was put on the infamous Hollywood blacklist one of several hundred writers, directors, producers and actors who were deprived of the opportunity to work in the motion picture industry from 1947 to 1960.
Directed by famed comedy director Jay Roache (Meet the Parents, Dinner for Schmucks) the trailer certainly looks too have a slight over the top comedic approach to this dark period in Hollywood’s history . This leads to a slightly uneven tone to the trailer.
Early buzz is speculating Bryan Cranston in the title role for may be in contention for Oscar nomination. The movie features a very strong lineup of both comedic and dramatic talent including John Goodman, Elle Fanning, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Louis C.K., Alan Tudyk and Michael Stuhlbarg and opens in the U.S. on November 6th, with January release planned in the UK.
