A rumor sprung up earlier this week that Netflix’s Daredevil season 2 would be released onto the streaming service on the same date “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” hit cinemas, on March 25th.

Netflix has now shot down those rumors and confirmed the release date, a week earlier, on March 18th and at the same time has released a new teaser trailer for the second season of the Marvel Comics adaptation. The teaser is a specially created promo with no actually footage from the new season.

The new season sees the Man without Fear come into contact with a new adversary in Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Matt Murdock also faces an old flame in the form of Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung).

Daredevil actor Charlie Cox recently spoke with Empire about Elektra’s role in the new season:

“I think every single man has an Elektra in their past. If you imagine that relationship, a very fiery, very lustful, very loving and hating relationship, and then you add to that two people who know serious martial arts, you’re going to have an interesting dynamic.”

Netflix has also released a new poster for the upcoming season 2, which uses the same artwork from the promo. Check out the teaser and poster below.
